Discipleship Training School
YWAM Nexia: Truro Initiatives’s Discipleship Training School (DTS) is a place to connect with God, other followers of Christ, and the world. Come, spend six months immersed in a life-changing community – learn, grow and give in ways that you may have only dreamed of before! YWAM’s Discipleship Training School has been impacting lives and training youth for service for over 40 years! DTS students, staff, and guest lecturers come from around the globe to study, work, and play together. They seek to know God and to make Him known in every area of life among all people of the planet.
The first part of the DTS is a 12-week lecture phase.
Qualified staff and teachers share from the Bible, their own experiences, and invite you to experience God in practical and personal ways.
More than just information, the lecture phase of the DTS combines “hearing”, “seeing” and “doing” in order to maximize learning and to “connect the dots” between what you know and how you live.
Lectures, reading, small-group discussion, worship, prayer, creative-processing and application times, assignments, and one-on-one conversations with staff, keep classes interesting and accommodate a variety of learning styles.
A 12-week cross-cultural field assignment follows the lecture phase and provides an opportunity to take the gospel to the nations living out and practically giving away what you have learned. You get to see the transforming power of God’s love in the lives of many others around the world! DTS is an intense six months - living in community, discovering God in new ways, doing things you have never done before - even leaving the safety and comfort of home, all in order to come face to face with the needs of a desperate world. Be a part of a great adventure that changes the world!
